Want to break up with dieting in 2025?
Jan 03, 2025
The start of a new year is filled with possibility - and this is YOUR year to make real changes that stick. No more endless “starting over,” no more quick fixes, and definitely no more guessing what will work.
But, before we dive into 2025, let’s take a moment to reflect on the holiday season, which is a time of joy and abundance, that often includes indulging more than usual at mealtimes.
If you’re feeling guilt about the festive treats, I want you to pause for a moment and breathe. Indulging is absolutely okay - it doesn’t need to overshadow your enjoyment.
Instead of guilt, let’s ask ourselves:
- Was the overindulgence a response to the stress leading up to the holidays?
- Was it the excitement of reconnecting with loved ones over a traditional and much-loved Christmas meal?
- Or was it simply the abundance of delicious, seasonal food?
By understanding your triggers, you can move forward with a greater understanding of yourself, which can help you to make more mindful choices in the future.
When we identify our triggers - whether it’s stress, excitement, or simply the environment - we can start making more intentional choices.
So let me remind you - moments of overindulgence don’t define you or your progress.
They're part of life, and are things you can move forward from without guilt. But how, I hear you ask, do you do this? OK, so this can take some time - but, I encourage you instead, to try to shift your focus to permission, forgiveness, self-compassion and small, nourishing actions that help you feel connected and grounded again.
Reconnecting with habits that support your well-being, like taking a gentle walk, enjoying a yoga session, or preparing balanced meals that make you feel good - are all great place to start this weekend.
Over time, as your mindset builds stronger, you'll create a more balanced relationship with food and, with yourself.
Now, let's look ahead, and as we step into 2025, imagine this:
✨You’re free from cycles of dieting and emotional eating
✨You manage your stress with clarity, and
✨ You have built habits that energise and sustain you.
No quick fixes, no fad diets that don't work for you, no impossible routines - just real, lasting change that fits your life. You, feeling confident in your skin, energised and in control of your stress - even through life’s ups and downs.
If you’re ready to:
- Quit the cycle of counting calories, restriction, weighing food and weighing yourself,
- Manage your emotional eating and constant overwhelm around food
- Feel calm, balanced, and in control of your food choices, building habits that energise you and fit your busy lifestyle
